📰 2 Must-Read AI Stories
Mind-Reading is Now Possible with Artificial Intelligence
It's not just science fiction anymore! Mind reading is officially on the table thanks to a breakthrough by Texas researchers who've developed an AI decoder that translates brain activity into text.
The Deets:
The decoder uses fMRI scan data to reconstruct speech accurately while people listen to or imagine a story.
This breakthrough could help patients with communication difficulties due to stroke or motor neurone disease.
The decoder was trained using a large language model, GPT-1, and can generate text from brain activity alone.
The system works at the ideas, semantics, and meaning level, rather than exact words.
Read more here…
Takeaway: Mind-reading AI offers groundbreaking potential for aiding communication-challenged individuals, but we must carefully navigate ethical concerns to protect privacy and prevent misuse. Striking the right balance is key as we step into this intriguing, uncharted territory.
Melding Military Might with AI Capabilities
The Deets:
Peter Thiel's company, Palantir, created a platform called Palantir Artificial Intelligence Platform (AIP) that aims to integrate AI into military decision-making.
Military operators can use AIP for drone reconnaissance, generating attack plans, and jamming enemy communications with the help of AI.
they can also ask the AI for information like identifying enemy units or high-resolution images and summarizing operational plans.
Palantir claims that AIP guarantees responsible, legal, and ethical utilization of AI in sensitive and classified settings. However, the company has not directly addressed identified AI concerns yet.
Takeaway: Palantir's AIP melds AI with military operations, promising increased efficiency and precision. However, as we teeter on the edge of a potential technological arms race, addressing ethical concerns in sensitive and classified contexts is paramount. The true test lies in achieving the delicate equilibrium between military prowess and responsible AI application here…
#Palantir AIP for Defense securely deploys the latest in #LLM capabilities across environments — from classified networks to devices on the tactical edge.
Discover how it enables responsible, effective, and compliant #AI advantage.

++ Recap of all the AI news in April
In case you’ve been very busy and unable to catch up with what happened last month. Here’s what you’ve missed.
AI developments - April 2023
🦉 1 Crazy Theory By Ash
In this AI-bloody-mad era, we're witnessing a shift in power akin to a king's coronation. It's like we're handing over the scepter to the AI overlords, ushering in a new, bloody reign.
This sh*t feels like we're on the cusp of an AI-dependent world, where we must ensure these robotic buggers act ethically, for everyone's sake. Just as the new king takes the reins, AI needs a proper set of rules to keep things in check.
Now, consider this: Could AI develop a sense of morality independent of human influence? If so, would its moral compass align with ours or lead us into uncharted ethical territories, forcing us to reconsider our own values?
So, let's venture forth into this AI kingdom with commitment to ethical progress. Without it, we are in deep trouble —- Because, in this new realm, the potential for greatness (and destruction) is limited only by our imagination.

How about these two? Another well-known royal couple are surrounded by crowds as they make their way to the ceremony
And there you have it, folks!
